Under-19 World Cup 2024: England vs Zimbabwe, standings updated after Match 38

Three matches took place in the Under-19 World Cup 2024 on Saturday, February 3. In the 36th match, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by five runs. Ireland beat New Zealand by 41 runs via DLS method, while England beat Zimbabwe by 146 runs in the other two matches.

India and Pakistan remain in the first two spots in the Super Six, Group 1, with four wins and an NRR of +3.460 and +0.288 respectively. Bangladesh have won and lost two games and are placed third with an NRR of +1.008. Ireland moved up to fourth place after winning their first Super Six game. His NRR is -1.163.

New Zealand has slipped from fourth to last place. They have won one game out of four and have an NRR of -1.800. Nepal are looking for their first win and are in last place with an NRR of -2.859.

Australia, South Africa and West Indies occupy the first three positions in the Super Six, Group 2, with NRRs of +3.240, +3.126 and +0.067 respectively.

England have dropped from fifth to fourth with two wins in four matches and an NRR of -0.160. With one win in four matches and an NRR of -1.223, Sri Lanka has moved from fourth to fifth position. Zimbabwe have not won a single game yet and are in last place with an NRR of -3.586.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 91 as Tazeem Ali's magic helped England win the Under-19 World Cup.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl against Pakistan, who were all out for 155 runs in 40.4 overs. Arafat Minhas He was the only batsman who scored more than 30 runs. Rohnat Dowla Borson and Sheikh Pavez Jibon took four wickets each for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh also did not have a good start and the team was out for 150 runs in 35.5 overs. For Pakistan, Ubaid Shah took five wickets for 44 runs in 10 overs.

Meanwhile, Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first against New Zealand. They lost two wickets in the first 10 overs before a 129-run partnership between Gavin Roulston and Kian Hylton for the third wicket. Ireland reached 267–9. Ewald Schrader was the most successful bowler for New Zealand, taking four wickets for 46 runs in seven overs.

New Zealand reached 131-5 in 32.1 overs before play was interrupted due to rain. They were 41 runs behind the total as per DLS and lost the game.

In the second match of the Under-19 World Cup, Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bowl against England. With the help of half-centuries from Theo Wylie and Charlie Ellison, England scored 237-7 in 50 overs. Alison was the top scorer with 76 runs out of 109.

In reply, Zimbabwe was all out for 91 runs in 24.5 overs. Tazeem Ali won the Player of the Match award for his exceptional bowling figures of seven wickets for 29 runs in 7.5 overs.
