Thanksgiving’s smash-and-grab chaos saw a suspect spray pepper spray on a Nordstrom guard in Topanga “as lawless looting broke out.



Authorities revealed that a group of five thieves stole handbags from Nordstrom at the Topanga Westfield Mall in Canoga Park, Calif., On Wednesday.

About eight high-end handbags were stolen when five suspects robbed the store, the Los Angeles Police Department has revealed.



No glass was broken before the theft as the store was still open and a security guard was sprayed with a chemical during the incident.

The security guard was fine after the attack and the suspect fled the scene in a Ford Mustang, CBS Los Angeles reported.



LAPD said suspects robbed the store when no police were in the area.
