Collins continued: “That was not my intention, so I need to correct the entry: I’m not bisexual. I happen to be straight, but I am also a fierce ally and the last thing I want to do is to falsely co-opt the struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe and fully support that we need to sanctify the right of the individual to honestly express their identity and freely love whomever we openly choose.”

“It makes me sick to think that I could have done something that could have made things worse,” he wrote. “I’m trying to learn, I’m trying to work better, and I’ll keep listening.”

The actor has been married to Victoria Vantoch since 2001. The longtime couple have two children together – son West, 12, and daughter Mason, 9.

Earlier at a convention in New Jersey over the weekend, Ackles revealed that Padalecki, who was scheduled to appear at the event, is “recovering” from a serious car accident, sharing that the actor is “lucky to be alive.”
