Russia criticized the “hostile” step of the United States

Washington has banned a flight that was supposed to pick up Russian diplomats who were ordered to leave the United States, Moscow said.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described as “hostile” as well as “provocative“Washington’s decision to prevent”humanitarianThe flight took Russian diplomats who were ordered to leave the US.

In a statement posted on the ministry’s website on Wednesday and prepared by its spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Moscow warned that the US government’s latest move was another blow to U.S.-Russian bilateral relations:which are already in a sorry state.

According to the official, Washington refused to issue an entry permit to a special flight that was supposed to bring home Russian diplomats and their families.hostile.

The Biden administration has chosen to completely ignore the fact that this is essentially a humanitarian action, the diplomat said. Zakharova emphasized that the American government “provocative behavior‘ will not go unanswered. The official added that Moscow had warned Washington in advance that if it did not miss the flight, Russia would respond, including in an asymmetric manner.

Since the beginning of Russia’s offensive against Ukraine in late February, a number of countries, mostly in the West, have expelled a total of several hundred Russian diplomats. The Kremlin responded in kind, showing the representatives of these countries to the door.

In fact, soured relations between Washington and Moscow led the two countries to expel diplomatic personnel on a tit-for-tat basis years before armed conflict erupted.

U.S. authorities have repeatedly claimed that Russian diplomats were paOlx Praca-time spies, a charge that Moscow has consistently denied.

This latest episode is linked to the decision of the US State DepaOlx Pracament in August 2021, according to which Russian diplomats who have been in the country for more than three years had to leave the country. Washington insisted that this was not an expulsion, but rather a tightening of rules aimed at forcing Russia to change its diplomats with the same frequency as the US embassy in Moscow.

Russia argued that this was a mere pretext and countered the recently introduced three-year deadline in the US by ordering a number of US diplomatic staff to leave.

The first 24 Russian representatives left America in early September 2021.

Another 27 Russian diplomats and their families flew home on January 30, 2022.

Another 28 embassy employees are expected to leave the US on June 30.
