RCMP locate a vehicle believed to belong to the suspect in the fatal Chilliwack shooting.

RCMP have found a vehicle believed to be connected to a double homicide in Chilliwack, but the alleged suspect remains at large.

Eric John Shestalo, 50, was identified last night (Thursday, July 21) by the RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) as the shooter in the McNaught Avenue massacre.

He was last seen driving a 1990 Jeep YJ.

On Friday, July 22, at least one photo and video was shared on social media showing a tow truck towing a vehicle with a green tarp attached to it while a police car followed. is running and its light is on.

Chilliwack Progress Contacted IHIT to confirm if they have found the jeep but they have not responded yet.

There was also a heavy police presence in the Bridal Falls area east of Chilliwack that day.

The tragic incident occurred around 11 a.m. on July 21 when two women and a man were shot at a home in the 9700 block of McNaught Avenue in Chilliwack.

One of them died on the spot. The second woman was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital where she later died. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

IHIT announced just after 9pm on July 21 that Shestalo was “armed and dangerous” and police were actively searching for him.

He is described as white, five feet nine inches tall and 176 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket and a black orange hat.

Anyone who sees Shestalo is urged not to approach him and call 911 immediately.

RCMP said it was a targeted shooting.

According to friends and family of the victims, one of the two women killed was the mother of the alleged shooter’s child and the other was an ex-girlfriend.

A friend of one of the women said on social media late Thursday that the two women were in Chilliwack for “safety” reasons after Shestalo allegedly tried to strangle his ex-girlfriend two months ago. I was living together.

Shestalow was scheduled to appear in Chilliwack Law Courts on the morning of July 21 in Chilliwack on charges of domestic violence and threats from April 15. The matter was transferred to August 5.
