Rain secures the abandonment of the England Ashes warm-up match

The game was scrapped on day three of England’s warm-up match against England Lions in Brisbane Because of the rain.

England were to recapture the 98 unbeaten with Haseeb Hamid (53) and Rory burns (39) at the fold.

Tuesday’s opening day was cut short in the second session at Wellington Point, and an early call was made to withdraw Wednesday’s second day after heavy rains on the Queensland coast.

The rain continued on Thursday, with the Australian Bureau of Meteorology recording nearly five millimeters that fell between 9 a.m. (11 p.m. London) and 12 p.m. as the match was abandoned.

Members of England squad Ashes who competed in the T20 World Cup were not included in the warm-up match and will remain in quarantine for an additional week.

The first test at the Gabba begins on December 8 and the fifth and final test is scheduled at Optus Stadium in Perth on January 14.
