Steve Bruce was reportedly proposed to his former club Manchester United by his agent.

The Mail claim the ex-United captain was offered for the interim role following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.



But Roberto Mancini supposedly SNUBBÉ an approach from United.

The former Manchester City boss, 56, plans to focus on qualifying for the World Cup with Italy.



German newspaper BILD reports that Mancini has refused contact with the Red Devils because he must fulfill his “duty” to help Italy qualify for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Lucien Favre’s name was also thrown in the hat to potentially become an interim manager.



United hierarchy have reportedly contacted the 64-year-old to discuss his interest in the job, according to The Telegraph.

And Brendan Rodgers has once again underlined his commitment to Leicester City.

He said: “I don’t take it for anything. To me, it’s not real.

“There is always gossip and speculation and I guess it will always be there until United appoint a full time manager.

“I’ve always said my commitment is here. My commitment is to this group of players, this team.”

Finally, Jesse Lingard remains determined to leave United despite the departure of Solskjaer.

The Mail claims the England star is “unaffected” by the change in leadership and still has no plans to open negotiations on a new contract.
