Prince Andrew secretly worked with Princess Diana and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to try to prevent Charles from becoming king and allow Prince William to take the throne with the Duke of York as regent, an explosive A new biography claims today.
Andrew is also accused of ‘lobbying’ the Queen and campaigning against the marriage between Charles and Camilla, now King and Queen Consort, telling his mother he is not credible.

Under his alleged plan, William, then a teenager, would have stood in for the throne if the Queen had died alongside Charles and Andrew would have been made regent until the Prince of Wales was 18.
Citing a ‘senior insider’, Ms Lyon writes that the Duke of York ‘conspired’ with Diana to ‘push Prince Charles aside’, with the aim of Prince Andrew becoming ‘Prince William’s regent’.
‘Andrew lobbied very hard in the hope that Charles would not become king when his mother died, and William would take the crown,’ she said.
Ms Lyon said the Prince lobbied ‘very hard’ to try and stop her older brother from taking the throne.
Prince Andrew is said to have ‘lobbied’ the Queen to try to keep himself as Prince William’s regent.
The prince is also said to now oppose King Charles’ marriage to Camilla.

A ‘senior palace insider’ is said to have told Ms Lyon: ‘When Diana was alive, through her friendship with Andrew’s wife Sarah, [Duchess of York] He worked with Andrew to push Prince Charles aside so that Prince Andrew could become regent for Prince William, who was then a teenager.
‘They were dark and strange times, where paranoia became reality, and it was a problem.

‘His attitude was very, very negative and very offensive to the Queen. [Elizabeth], who disagreed. I was told it was one of those rare occasions when he didn’t get his way.
‘Nevertheless, he was apparently very angry that he somehow could not rule the country. He remained so hostile to Camilla’s appearance and acceptance that it is doubtful whether he was ever forgiven.’
Representatives for Buckingham Palace and the Duke of York have been contacted for comment.
Ms Lyon also wrote of the Duke’s hostility to Charles’ marriage to Camilla, claiming Andrew was ‘toxic’ and ‘very nasty’ to the late Queen Elizabeth.
The insider said: ‘He tried to convince the Queen to stop Charles from marrying Camilla by being quite toxic, mean, unhelpful and very nasty about Camilla’.
These claims reportedly included that Camilla was insufficiently aristocratic and untrustworthy.
In 1998, when Charles turned 50, a party was held but the Queen and Prince Philip refused if Camilla was present.
Camilla’s close friend Lucia Santa Cruz said: “When Camilla was married to Andrew Parker Bowles, she went to Balmoral with him and joined the royal family. They treated her amazingly well… But when the marriage failed and she was with Prince Charles, she was rejected and all the blame was put on her, which was very unfair.”
The Duke of York and King Charles have reportedly had a strained relationship over the years, which has deteriorated dramatically since Prince Andrew’s relationship with p*dophile Jeffrey Epstein was revealed.
When Buckingham Palace announced in January that the prince would be stripped of all his military honors and patronage, and would defend his s*xual assault lawsuit against Virginia Geoffrey as a private citizen, it was understood that now The king of K has played an important role in influencing this decision.
The Queen is said to have always had a soft spot for her second son, the Duke of York.

Charles is said to have spoken to his mother on the telephone to express his thoughts on the decision.
A palace insider said at the time: ‘It was a ruthless and quick decision that would have been recommended by the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge and approved by the Queen.’
Later in February it was reported that Charles had asked his brother to stay ‘out of sight’ at official events.
Prince Andrew has since reached a settlement with Ms Geoffrey, in which she has admitted no wrongdoing.
