Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, supporter of the ex-president Donald trump, introduced a bill to reward Kenosha’s acquitted shooter, Kyle Rittenhouse, with a Congressional gold medal for “protecting the community.”

Greene introduced the bill on Wednesday, five days after a jury found Rittenhouse not guilty of all charges against him for killing two men and injuring a third during a protest in Kenosha, Wis., L ‘last year.

HR6070 states that there are plans to “bestow a Congressional Gold Medal on Kyle H Rittenhouse, who protected the community of Kenosha, Wisconsin, in a Black Lives Matter (BLM) riot on August 25, 2020”.

If awarded, it would give 18-year-old Rittenhouse the same medal that the police received for protecting the United States Capitol during the deadly January 6 riot, as well as the American troops killed in Kabul.

It’s a long shot for Rittenhouse, as he has been praised by many conservatives, but also angry progressives who see his acquittal as proof that criminal justice systems favor whites.
