welcome city

States like Massachusetts, New York and California are “safe” states that support Biden’s non-secure border policy. That’s why Gov. DeSantis chose to fly 48 immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Now, Charlie Baker can fix the policy by choosing all the “sanctuary cities” like Boston, Somerville and Cambridge as potential welcome centers for these immigrants. Let these cities feel the pressure to provide housing, education, health care and jobs for these people because supporting open borders has real consequences.

Border fallout

To say that the governors of Texas and Florida brutally exposed the fraud of the elites in that state and the country alone is to understate epic proportions.

Suddenly this devastation created by Biden and the Democratic Party is in their backyard and it is now a “humanity issue” and because of that the local and national media cable now finds it newsworthy.

The president and his cabinet keep telling the lie that the border is secure and get no pushback from the “fact checkers” and dim bulb talkers who just nod their heads in agreement.

Newsflash to the elitist cheaters, many of the people you demonize and label in the most vile ways to silence any dissent, we fully support legal immigration, in fact we encourage it. are what we encourage as the basis for making this country so great.

Courage is needed from our dutiful leaders to work together and truth and facts in the media otherwise our democracy is doomed from within.

— Thomas C. Wahlberg, Dedham

Double standard

Rachael Rollins is going to “see” how illegal immigrants were sent to Martha’s Vineyard without informing the state government or authorities. Unfortunately this is becoming quite common (“Working to Help Them” 9/16/22).

I have a question for Rachel Rollins, did you “see” how illegal immigrants were sent to Texas without informing the state government or officials?

It’s really amazing how upset everyone in Massachusetts was when this happened and the headline should have read “Not in my backyard”!

In Obama’s camp?

The Obama estate in Martha’s Vineyard sits on 29 oceanfront acres. Obama has always supported immigrants and has always said he is not racist. It would be great news if they help recent immigrants with a vineyard and allow immigrants to set up tents in their sprawling yards until they find suitable housing in the city. This will be a great help to these families and provide security until they can be relocated to the vineyard. They need to call and confirm this good deed.

Wrong move

While I agree with Florida Gov. Rick DeSantis that the entire nation should work together to secure our borders, his use of Venezuelan immigrants as political tools was wrong. All he had to do was call Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker for some help. Perhaps he was afraid that Gov. Baker wouldn’t tell him. But knowing that Gov. Baker believes in doing the right thing makes what Gov. DeSantis did all the more hateful.
