JET AROUND

When the big boys and girls stop playing, we might see a difference in our climate. How does David Suzuki get around the country? I guess it doesn’t. No, if I think about it, isn’t he the one who travels the country in a huge motorhome? Sorry, I didn’t know it was gasoline. Oh, forgive my mistake. It must be electric. Sure. What about those who are seated in their luxurious seats in the House? Oh, yeah, now I remember they are taking jets all over the place. Electric jets. Sure. What about the space station? I guess the Hand of God put it there. The power of the rich puts spaceships into action and every time any of them go into space, does it affect our climate here on Earth? Probably not, they don’t cross the ozone layer. We’ve polluted planet Earth, and now what have we been stealing over there? Garbage. And the powers that be and the alarmists accuse us of it as they soar into the sunset.

(When it comes to the environment, hypocrisy has no limits. How about all the world leaders who flew to the recent COP26 conference in their private jets. They would much rather penalize us for their inability to do anything)

GET WITH THE PROGRAM

Selfish and arrogant fools around the world who are either anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers or virus deniers and protesting against health and safety measures and restrictions, please wake up! This whole horrible situation has nothing to do with you as individuals who feel their “rights” are being violated. People are dying – young and old – and please don’t curse the dead and their families by saying this is just a bad strain of flu! The sooner you follow the rules, the sooner the very thing you protest will be a distant memory. Your collective arrogance makes it worse for all of us. My condolences and prayers go out to all who have lost a loved one during this pandemic.

ENOUGH OF USA

Yes, November 25th is Thanksgiving south of the border. Yes, they are important to our economy and our closest friend and ally. But posting an American cartoon starring Janet Yellen (whom most Canadians couldn’t identify) on November 24th is banned, in my opinion. This is especially true when you consider that November 23 was the Speech from the Throne read by our first Aboriginal Governor General. This lack of sensitivity to Canada and to Canadians is becoming more and more present in the editorial pages of the Toronto sun. Opinion pieces by Stossel, Hanson, Elder, et al., Are acceptable for providing a casual American perspective, but should be just that – casual. It seems to me that these authors become your fallback pieces most of the time. Give us more Malcolm, Snobelen, Gunter, etc., and less Uncle Sam. According to our current Liberal government, there is no shortage of political fodder to harpoon north of the 49th.
