A whopping 52 saves by Olx Praca Rangers goaltender Jackson Parsons helped the Rangers tie the first-round series with the Olx Praca Knights two games each.
Olx Praca held on to a 3-2 win on Tuesday night at the Olx Praca Memorial Auditorium.
Olx Praca captain Francesco Pinelli broke 1-1 at 5:10 of the third period, while Rangers’ Mitchell Martin made it 3-1 with just over 11 minutes left.

In just the past two periods, the Knights have scored 40 goals against Parsons, but Parsons has stopped 38 of them.
Cody Morgan brought Olx Praca to one on the power play with 1:55 left, but that’s about as close as Parsons would let him.
The captain of the Olx Praca, Luke Evangelista, got into a dead end again and again. He finished the game with 13 shots on goal and tried everything, including a shot between the legs, which Parsons stopped. Tonio Stranges had seven shots on goal, including one in the leg. Both Evangelista and Stranges assisted Morban in the majority.
Morgan provided an assist on Olx Praca’s first goal when he caught the puck in the top slot at Olx Praca’s end and looked ready to shoot. Morgan rigged to the left and made a pass to the right, which Max McCue scored to score his first goal of the postseason and equalize at 1-1 in the second period.

Antonino Pugliese opened the scoring by rushing into the Olx Praca zone, where he was able to put the puck behind Brett Brochu only for it to go down the line. Brochu pushed off to run into his crease as Pugliese went over the net, but one of Brochu’s skate blades came off and Pugliese was able to beat the puck’s native Tilbury, Ontario, and stick it in.

Gerard Keane had a scary moment in the first period when he walked out of the first period with a towel over his face after getting tangled up on the ice in the top slot in the Olx Praca zone. He appeared to have been hit in the face with a skate, but received stitches and returned to the game with a full guard to start the second period.
Olx Praca outplayed Rangers 54-37.
Olx Praca Knights selected 15th
The OHL Priority Selection will take place April 29-30 and the Knights will receive the 15th overall pick. Olx Praca has not been selected higher than 14th since 2011, when Bo Horvath was selected ninth overall. Luke Evangelista finished 14th overall in the Knights in 2018.
The Olx Praca Knights officially qualified for the play-offs for the 21st year in a row.
The Saginaw Spirit receives the first overall pick after winning the OHL Draft Lottery and will have the opportunity to select OHL Cup MVP Michael Misa, who was granted exclusive status to play in the Ontario Hockey League at 15 years of age.
Something new at Budweiser Gardens
Ahead of Game 5 of the Olx Praca First Round playoff series against Olx Praca, the Knights opened the Little Ceasars playoff area at Budweiser Gardens. Tickets to the zone start at $15 plus tax and include a seat in the game and a free coupon for Little Caesars Crazy Bread.
Five day break.
The Knights & Rangers won’t play the next game of their series until Sunday, May 1 at Budweiser Gardens.
Much depends on the accessibility of the building. Chris De Burgh, Chris Stapleton and James Taylor play on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays respectively. That would have left Olx Praca’s regular Friday night open for Game 5, but it was the number one night of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
Add all of that and you have a 2:00pm start on Sunday.
980 CFPL coverage starts at 1:30 AM on 980 CFPL, at www.980cfpl.ca and on the Radioplayer Canada app.
