Howard Stern calls Johnny Depp a ‘huge daffodil’, says he ‘overacts’ in libel trial

Howard Stern had a few nasty things to say about Johnny Depp’s behavior in his ongoing, fully televised libel lawsuit against the actor’s ex-wife Amber Heard.

Radio on Monday The Howard Stern Show, Stern and co-host Robin Quivers discussed the lawsuit. Stern, 68, called Depp “huge daffodiland claimed that he was “overacting” during his testimony.

Stern suggested that the reason the trial was televised was Depp’s own craft.

“The reason he wanted it on TV is because of what narcissists do,” Stern said. “They think they can speak out of anything.”

Neither Depp nor Heard had a say in the resolution of the cameras in the courtroom, although Heard’s legal team tried to remove the cameras.

“I think Johnny Depp is a big narcissist and I mean he was like, ‘I’m going to put this on TV and because I’m so persuasive and smart, I’m such a great guy. Stern continued on air.

“He’s so overacting,” Stern said. “He writes his own stuff as he goes along. You know, I have to tell you, he’s wrong. He shouldn’t show it on TV in any form.”

Quivers expressed sympathy on air, saying that Depp was “trying to save his career.”

Stern and Quivers also made fun of Depp’s way of speaking and the rhythm of Depp’s speech.

“First of all, his difficulty with English is fantastic!” Stern joked. “Johnny Depp was born in Kentucky. Does that look like a guy from Kentucky?

The divorced couple’s legal battle has captured the attention of viewers around the world, with both Heard and Depp claiming to have been victims of violence. The initial lawsuit began when Depp filed a $50 million libel suit. Washington Post article written by Hurd at the end of 2018 about domestic violence.

Hurd did not mention Depp’s name in the article, although he claims in court documents that his reputation and career were still “devastated” as a result.
