A former Royal Marines commando has been charged with the murder of a married couple who were allegedly stabbed to death during a bitter row of parking lots in Somerset.

Computer professor Stephen Chapple, 34, and his wife Jennifer, 33, a gardener worker, were found seriously injured at their £ 250,000 home in Norton Fitzwarren near Taunton on Sunday evening and died at the scene while their two sons slept upstairs.

The incident is believed to be linked to a long-standing dispute over parking, with neighbors leaving their cars in front of each other’s drivers, forcing them to be stranded.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed this evening that Collin Reeves, 34, has been charged with the murders.

The force confirmed at a press conference yesterday that the couple’s two children, five and six, were in their upstairs bedrooms during the attack.

They were found “in distress” but unharmed and are now cared for by Jenny’s sister at a nearby house, neighbors said.

Ms. Chapple suffered “multiple” stab wounds, her autopsy found. Mr. Chapple’s has not yet been completed.

Police said the incident at the Dragon Rise estate would be referred to the police watchdog due to “prior police contact with those involved.”
