The event is back after being canceled due to epidemics last year.
Officials say that while there will be some adjustments this year, the tradition will be largely the same, meaning the city will see a parade of blue angels and ships.
Law enforcement agencies say they will be enforced at all locations and events throughout the city.
“We’re going to make sure we have staff,” said Sheriff Paul Miyamoto. “Our plain-clothed staff will be in uniform. Our people will work with the police department there, because the most important thing is to have a workable stop for any shiny gun, any tom fool.”
The festivities will begin next Wednesday evening with a concert at the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center.
Air shows start one week from today and run through the weekend.
