Police say they shot and killed a 22-year-old man in Englewood Sunday night.
“Officers were shot while investigating a disturbance inside a home in the 5000 block of South Grove Street,” according to a press release from the Englewood Police Department. They initially sensed a disturbance at the residence around 7:39 p.m.
Police say they returned fire, hitting and killing the man. The Englewood Police Department says no officers were injured.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, according to the press release.
An Englewood police SWAT team arrived on scene and “secured the residence” while the 18th Judicial District’s Critical Incident Response Team arrived to investigate.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and no further details are available.
