LOS ANGELES — Leslie Jordan, an actor whose Southern drawl and versatility have made him a standout in comedies and dramas including TV series “Will & Grace” and “American Horror Story,” The Emmy winner, whose videos made her a social media star during the pandemic, was 67.

Jordan’s other feature credits include “Heartsfire,” “Boston Legal,” “Fantasy Island” and “The United States vs. Billie Holiday.” He has played various roles in the “American Horror Story” franchise series.

Jordan died Monday in a single-car crash in Hollywood, celebrity website TMZ and the Los Angeles Times reported, citing unnamed law enforcement sources.

Jordan gained an unexpected new following in 2021 when he spent time in his hometown near family during the pandemic lockdown. He broke the same by posting his daily videos on Instagram.

Many of Jordan’s videos included him asking “How do you do?” And some included stories about Hollywood or his childhood growing up with identical twin sisters and their “Mama” as he called her. Other times he did silly things like complete an indoor obstacle course.

“Someone called from California and said, ‘Oh, honey, you’ve gone viral.’ And I said, ‘No, no, I don’t have COVID. I’m in Tennessee right now,'” Jordan said. Celebrities including Michelle Pfeiffer, Jessica Alba and Anderson Cooper, along with brands like Reebok and Lululemon, will post comments.

Soon he became fixated with his views and number of followers, as not much else was happening. At the time of his death, he had 5.8 million followers on Instagram and 2.3 million followers on TikTok.
