Federal and state authorities are investigating a woman’s claim that her dead father was a prolific serial killer who buried dozens of victims in rural Iowa.

Lucy Studi said her father, Donald Studi, may have killed as many as 70 people and buried them near a well in Thurman, Iowa, a small town about 40 miles southeast of Omaha, Nebraska, according to police. , Newsweek ago Reported.

Cadaver dogs trained to sniff out human remains were killed several times while searching the area where Ms Studi had directed them.

“All we have is a woman came forward and told us a story about the bodies in the well,” Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Ostrup said. told KETV “We brought in a couple of cadaver dogs. The cadaver dogs looked there or looked around the area, and they pointed in the area. I wouldn’t say it was over the well, but they pointed in the area. was

Law enforcement officials, including the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the FBI, are now planning the next steps in the investigation. This may involve digging a well, which Sheriff Ostrup. told The Des Moines Register will be an important initiative.

He also expressed some skepticism about Ms. Study’s claims, but hedged that he could have been out of town. He said most of the suspected victims were young prostitutes and runaway women.

“If we had 70 missing persons from Omaha Council Bluffs, we would have picked it up,” Sheriff Ostrup told the newspaper. “So if there are 70 people, they’re not all from here.”

Ms. Studdy’s sister, Susan, also denied claims that her father was one of the most violent murderers in American history.

Susan Studi told Newsweek that she didn’t hear Lucy’s theory about her father until a year ago. The Daily Mail Reported that Susan believes the stray dogs have discovered the remains of Donald Study’s dead sister, buried in a shoebox on the property.

“I think I’m going to find out if my dad did murder. I’m going to find out if my dad was a serial killer. He wasn’t, and I want my dad’s name to be cleared,” Susan Studi. told Newsweek.

Donald Study died in 2013.

The Lucy study’s claims, if proven true, would make her father one of the nation’s most notorious murderers in its history.

Samuel Little has been directly linked to 60 murders of women and confessed to killing more than 90 women. He died in 2020. “Green River Killer” Gary Ridgway admitted to killing more than 60 women after his arrest in 2001 and is suspected of killing as many as 70 more.
