The Chabot Los Positas Community College District, which serves approximately 30,000 students annually in the Eastern Bay, will provide all students, faculty and staff with a full vaccination against CUVID 19 on campus starting next spring semester. Will be needed.
The district announced a comprehensive vaccine mandate by the school district board in a statement Friday.
“As a public agency, it is our district’s responsibility to ensure that our students are learning and that our teachers and staff are working in the safest environment,” the statement said.
The statement said “those who attend classes in person or take part in any activity on campus” must be vaccinated, although the board’s order allows for “medical and religious exemptions”. ۔
Students must obtain proof of their vaccination or approval of the exemption before they can register for any private classes at Chabot College, Hayward or Los Positas College, Livermore. According to the district, registration for the Spring 2022 classes opens on November 9, and classes will begin on January 18, 2022.
The district said students must receive their last vaccination dose at least 14 days before coming to campus.
“After extensive consultation with health officials across the state and our educational partners, the Board decided to move in that direction and order the Covid 19 vaccination,” the district statement said.
According to the statement, only students attending online classes who “will not go to campus for any reason” are not required to show proof of immunizations.
The Oahlon Community College District Board, which serves approximately 15,000 students and has campuses in Fremont and Newark, also enacted a vaccine mandate last month, which became effective. September 30. All students and staff, or anyone on the O’Hallon campus, need to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
O’Hallon’s mandate also includes exemptions for “certified medical or religious reasons.”
